Your New Purpose

"About noon, King Agrippa, as I was on the road, I saw a light from heaven, brighter than the sun, blazing around me and my companions. 14 We all fell to the ground, and I heard a voice saying to me in Aramaic,  ‘Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me? It is hard for you to kick against the goads.’ 15 “Then I asked, ‘Who are you, Lord?’ "I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting,’ the Lord replied.
16 ‘Now get up and stand on your feet. I have appeared to you to appoint you as a servant and as a witness of what you have seen and will see of me. 17 I will rescue you from your own people and from the Gentiles. I am sending you to them 18 to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me."
19 “So then, King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the vision from heaven. 20 First to those in Damascus, then to those in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and then to the Gentiles, I preached that they should repent and turn to God and demonstrate their repentance by their deeds." Acts 26:13-20[NIV]

The Lord speaks to all of us in his own special way, though few have the major conversion experience the likes of Saul (Later known as the disciple Paul). After Jesus appeared to Paul, he swiftly put aside his wicked ways of persecuting Christians as while working as a 'tax collector,' then went on to become one of the greatest teaching Apostles the world has ever known.

His  message was one of forgiveness and repentance. It was as if he got his conversion, forgiveness, God's protection, and ministry marching orders all at once! Ultimately, God used Saul to bring MANY people...generations of people...to Christ.

So go on... Step out of your comfort zone and see how your life changes for the better. If you haven't already done so, invite Jesus Christ into your heart and home today. You, too, may be surprised at how He will use you to lead souls to Him... Trust me, It's true!!!

"This is Not Your Battle to Fight!"

You need not fight in this battle; station yourselves, stand and see the salvation of the Lord on your behalf..."  2 Chronicles 20:17

In the worldly mind, it seems impossible for the Lord to fight our battles for us. In fact, the world tells us, "Fight your own battles!" However, reading today's Scripture through the eyes of faith, it is an exhilerating thought! Imagine...Jesus fighting our battles FOR us...And it's true...he sometimes does--more than we know!!!

This Scripture tells us to basically stand down and watch, as the Lord fights our battles for us on our behalf. Personally, I can think of many times when Jesus has come to my aid and fought battles for me. How do you know when He is fighting for you? Well, when against all odds, good things happen! The brain tumor that disappeared without treatment. The car accident that was averted. The Scripture that comes to you right when you need it most. The high-risk baby born without medical condition or mishap. Healings of every kind, in body, mind and spirit.

Sounds like it's time to pray for discernment as to what battles belong to us, and which ones belong to the Lord. 'Coincidence' is often how people explain away God's work here on earth. Time to do our part, then get out of the way and start giving credit where credit is due...

"The Lord will fight for you while you keep silent.” Exodus 14:14

Hope in the Lord is Never Wasted!

www.theinspirationcafeblog.blogspot.com/
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!"  I Corinthians 5:17
________________________________________
Hope in the Lord is never wasted! For He always provides more than we ask for; ever present, He is forever renewing His blessings each day to shower upon us anew. Pray for yourself and others often, careful to watch and observe what Jesus has in store for those who love Him. For His love is unconditional, His mercies, far beyond anything we could ever merit. Pray with confidence daily and witness the fresh blessings that the Lord provides each day!

Who can possibly outdo the Almighty in His splendor and unbridled generosity? As in any other relationship, you never know until you ask for whatever it is you need. Make straight your path with the Lord, and pray with confidence for what you need. Healing in body and mind? Abundant supply? healing of relationships and memories? There isn't anything that Jesus can't do for you in His own special time and way when you humbly ask in earnest...Believe it!

As in any other relationship, with the Lord, there are no entitlements, respect is vitally important, and never take Him for granted. Praise Him in the small things and in big things, and invite Him into your heart to be your Savior in the here and now and for eternity. Jesus' outpouring of Love, and practical help is unprecedented, and timely, ready and waiting for those who keep His commands. Make Him the center of your life and your family beginning today, and sing His praises morning 'til night.

Let Jesus' first gifts to you be the 'Fruit of the Spirit,' beginning with sublime peace and joy that grows by the day, even in the face of adversity. Like a tangled skein of yarn, lay your life in Jesus' hands now, simply by saying, "Jesus I trust in You!" and step back and watch Him makeover your life as a new creation in the new year!

Gratitude & Joy

"Be grateful for the good things that the Lord your God has given you and your family; and let the Levites and the foreigners who live among you join in the celebration."
 ***********************************
Gratitude & Joy. There is no quicker way to experiencing joy in this life than by
praising our Triune God--Father, Son, and Holy Spirit-- in gratitude for all
His profound and abundant blessings He has showered upon each of us.
Praise Him for your successes AND your challenges, your home, your loved ones, family and co-workers alike...Praise Him for it all, because without the Lord we are nothing left on our own!

Putting aside all worldly gifts, let this Christmas be one of extreme gratitude to God for His sublime generosity. He gave us life, people to love and care about us and people to love. God has given each of us unique gifts to share with the world, and successes when we use those gifts well. He is our great provider and lover of our souls--To be 'self-made' is but an illusion.
For God has even given us His only Son, Jesus Christ, whom we celebrate this Christmas season and all the days of our lives, and subsequently, Salvation for those who believe in Him. Let this Christmas be truly special as you share Jesus with others and praise and celebrate His holy name as the Author of Life, Almighty Protector, Great Comforter, Supreme Counselor, Savior for all of humanity.
May you continue to praise His Holy Name through the coming year and experience a tremendous outpouring of joy that lasts far past the holiday season!

Jesus told him, "I AM the Way, the Truth and the Life.
No one comes to the Father except through me."
John 14:6

The Ripple Wave Effect of Prayer

"For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind."                   2 Timothy 1:7
  ***********************************************
As the Christmas season is upon us, we realize that there are some among us who struggle as they grieve for their loved ones, and are unable to feel the joy of the Christmas season. For some, even the sound of Christmas music can be a source of heartache. But consider this...

I don't know about you, but there are days when I need to be reminded of this holy Scripture passage. Days when sadness comes or difficult situations arise, it is easy to put aside my faith and forget to pray first in all things. During these times, my own thinking presents seemingly insurmountable obstacles to embracing the great gift of faith that comes through prayer. It is during those times that I flounder in my own thoughts and find it hard to lift my own spirits...

Yet, by the grace of God, for the glory of God, something or someone will remind me to pray--And prayer swiftly launches me to a much better place. In terms of prayer, I find that praise and gratitude to God are predictably the antidote to every negativity, sadness, anxiety and fear. For what darkness can possibly stand up against the power found in a grateful heart, betrothed to our Lord?

So go on--Take a minute now and pray for someone who is down or grieving this Christmas season. If you can, call, send a card or visit and pray together.  Your efforts and prayers will go a long way to help lift their spirits and lead them back to a heart full of gratitude to Our Lord, "the real reason for the season!" For what better gift can any of us possibly give than kindness and prayer to those in need? It will strengthen your faith and theirs this holiday season, as kindness is always mutually beneficial, and has a ripple wave effect.

Discernment & The Dialogue of Prayer

Psalm 32:8
"The Lord says, “I will teach you the way you should go; I will instruct you and advise you."'

Discernment. Today's Scripture passage is all about God's promise for discernment--learning what God's plan is for us in every circumstance. It is about the dialogue of prayer. That's right. Prayer is not a monologue, it is a dialogue with God. For when we pray, we either praise God and thank him for all the abundant blessings He so generously provides, we request what is needed in prayer for ourselves or others, we ask forgiveness, or we simply sit quietly in prayer.

Through prayer, we are able to discern truth and seek the Lord in earnest, even in the 'truth famine' we live in today where even truth in news reporting seems to be a rare commodity. We are able to transcend pain and suffering, infirmity, disability, poverty, grief, broken relationships, loneliness, depression and anxiety, diminish fear, and hop over seemingly impossible life obstacles.

Medical research shows there are also significant physiological changes during prayer... And prayer has been found to be very healing. In fact, some studies have found that people who pray or have others praying for them (Intercessory prayer) heal much faster after surgery!

Eloquent speech is not required to pray to God. Just an open heart and belief in our Triune God--Father, Son and Holy Spirit!  If you ask for direction and counsel in your life, the Lord will show up and teach you the way you should go, instruct you and guide you along your way.
Just ask!
